RE: Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's. Which do you like better?

Well fella's, I guess it just boils down to what part of the country your from. I myself have bought several things from Cabelas via phone a or net, over the years and everything was top notch in quality and price. I do prefer Bass Pro though and mainly in part to the Springfield store only being 2 hours away. We also now have one only 1 hr away, but it isn't as large as the original. I have not ever had the chance to get to a Cabelas store, but would like to go just to check it out in person.

RE: Getting ready for next deer season.

Just curious- how big are the deer up there? My ole' man shot a good size buck here in OK several yrs back and blew the off-side front shoulder almost completly off with a 7mm Mag BAR. I shoot a .243 MDL 700 and it puts em' down. Good luck next year!

RE: Honda 420 ES 4x4 - VS- 400 Rancher AT 4x4

OK- maybe the 420 wasn't such a good idea. I bought the Green 07' 400AT 4x4 Rancher a couple days ago. Honda had way to many rebates to move the 400's and I couldn't pass that up. I rode them both and they are very comparable to me(aside from liquid cooled and EFI). It should be all we need around here and huntin'. I do have one question though, Why did Honda go with an 11" rim on the back and a 12" on the front??? doesnt' make any sense to me- if anyone has an answer, I would appreciate it.

RE: Got some ink!

Nice! That is probably your first of many. They seem to be very addicting! I got my first in the Army and was back for more and more, anyway I've lost count of how many I have now. I even started doing my own in the service- and all my buds. keep the pic's coming.

RE: Going to Little Sahara, Ok. the week of March 2nd

I'm not aware of a DB law- No one has ever checked any of us. Yes you can buy the flags at LS Power Sports- there pretty cheap. not sure about the glass- we only take a few bottles of water with us- a few times the guys at the gate have checked our packs, but not all the time. Be safe- you'll have a blast and as stated before always have someone at the top of the dunes when you jumping.

RE: Going to Little Sahara, Ok. the week of March 2nd

Oldbutslow- where do you all plan on staying? The new Little Sahara Inn is pretty nice(only because it is new) compared to the other motels in town. There are plenty of camping spots too. You said the others were planning the trip since they had been there before, If camping find out which end you will be staying at, ie North or South.
Seem like the North and has alot less trouble with stupid a$$ kids. The last few times we have been we stayed on the North end. Had a great time. Let me know.

RE: Riders trespassing on my land, what to do?

If you own a deer rifle find an elevated position and start picking them off one at a time- just remember to start from the rear and work forward, they wont know what hit em'.

RE: Alright the 450R

450r Man- the power increase I was refering to was not Honda's "claimed" increase after the kit is installed, but seen first hand by before and after Dyno runs by Sandtrax Racing. Lonnie(Owner) stated that depending on the bike you can gain in the range of 8-10hp.
What sorta HP/Torque are you pushing on your bike? Just curious of how much more and the cost per HP in comparison to mine. Keep in mind that this is strictly a recreational quad for me, no desire to race on a track- just in the sand. I bought this bike after a trip to Sahara and I wasn't able to keep up with my boy and his buddies. Not trying to get in a Pissing contest, but I do know what my bike is turning and the money it took to get there. Maybe your version of Haul A$$ fast is just a litle faster than mine. HRC

RE: Alright the 450R

Magnum Eagle- Yes the HRC kit comes with the jets. I have no knowledge with the late model "FI" sport quads.
450r Man- I understand your need to haul ass and I agree with that, however I would argue that you would be hard pressed to add 9 hp for less money than I have in the mods to my R. HRC kit, No-toil filter, White Bros. Slip-on on HRC Header. Thats it and it does Haul A$$. I guess it just comes down to how fast you want to go and how much you want to spend.

RE: Alright the 450R

The HRC kit is a must have addition to the 450r! As for pipes, not many out there that will add much more power than the stock pipe with the kit. If you buy a aftermarket pipe your basically buying the sound. I will admit that I have gone to a White Bros. E2 on mine and it sounds great. I had an FMF Factory 4, but it was too loud for me. I still haven't had a chance to dyno the bike with the White Bros. pipe. I would suggest a aftermarket filter because it will need to breath much more after the kit is installed, I run a No-Toil with no lid.

Honda 420 ES 4x4 - VS- 400 Rancher AT 4x4

I've searched for the subject, but cannot find anything comparing just the two quads. I am considering each of these and don't really have any good info on the 420 w/ EFI. Sounds like a good idea, but as with all things new there are some issues. Also has anyone had issues with the Electronic Shift(ES)? If anyone has any good feedback on this quad, please let me know. The Rancher AT has been around for some time and is pretty much bullet-proof. Since it is being replaced by the 420 EFI, they have excellent deals on the 400 right now. I appreciate any help you all can provide.
